Kent Freeman is a 30 year veteran of the Fire Service. He currently a retired Captain of the Roseville Fire Department in the greater Sacramento, California area.  He is the author and developer of California State Fire Training Divisions, Confined Space Rescue "Awareness" program and served as the project leader for the Confined Space Rescue "Technician" program. He has worked extensively in the area of Confined Space Entry/Rescue since 1989, assisting in the development of numerous teams and six permanent confined space rescue training centers as a Senior Confined Space Rescue technician instructor. He has completed work with Cal-OSHA on a project developing a text to guide general industry on developing regulatory compliant confined space entry programs. Kent is also certified to instruct programs in River and Flood Rescue, Low and High Angle Rope Rescue, Vehicle Rescue as well as C.P.R., First Aid, Automatic External Defibrillator and Blood Borne Pathogens. Kent serves on the California State Fire Training working group for the Trench Rescue "Technician" curriculum. He assisted in the development of the California State Fire Training program for personal Watercraft Rescue, and was awarded the prestigious California Fire Instructor of the Year for 1999. Kent is a dynamic speaker with a diverse background in technical rescue.
